Main actor : Fujiwara Tatsuya
(Since I watched it without subs and since my Jap isn't so good, this review is done with whatever that I could understand. Apology if anything written is wrong. P.S Some info taken from AsianMediaWiki.)
Tatsuya plays a brother (Seiji) whose younger brother (Michio) has a rare disease (Xeroderma Pigmentosum) where he can't be exposed to the sunlight. What is worst is that Micho has a mind equivalent to a six-year old.
Here Seiji reads a story to Michio who is fast asleep. Aren't they a cute brotherly pair?
Seiji is in the local Yakuza and work through the ranks to become a respected member. All this to support his brother.
Being in a Yakuza means he has to do dealing with dangerous people such as the one shown here.
One night, Seiji saves a woman (Keiko) from a drunken pervert. Coincidentally, she is Michio’s nurse. Like any other romance show, she fell for Seiji just after being saved that one time.
Michio wears a special suit whenever he goes out in the day time. Here the nurse is actually scolding Seiji for coming late in picking up Michio from the hospital. But Seiji couldn't really be bothered about it. The reason why he was late was due to the dealing mentioned above.
The three guys in the back of the pic were taken hostages by a group of Chinese (I think) Mafia. They were actually staring at each other and with just a bad exchange of words, the three were taken hostage.
Thus to save those three, Seiji and one 'ANIKI' from the Yakuza group went to do a deal with the Chinese Mafia.
Here is the main boss of the Chinese Mafia. They had a dealing. Money was offered but if Seiji were to take the money, the boss will be killed.
Seiji kept a straight face and took the money. He saved his friends but the boss was killed and yet he couldn't be bothered.
Guess that's just how things work in the Yakuza world.
In reaction to the death of that boss, the police made a visit to the Yakuza's office and meet the boss there. This boss is Seiji's boss.
They had such a sad past. Their father died right after Michio was born and their mother died at the hospital when Michio was only five.
Due to some incident involving Michio, the brothers had to leave this lovely looking mansion. It's all because the residents complain. It's so sad. And so they stay at a hotel for a while.
At the hotel something unfortunate happened. Seiji had to leave for a while due to a Yakuza work. He was being careless by leaving Michio alone. Seiji had been playing with his lighter before he left and that caught the attention of Michio. Thus after he left, Michio played with it.
As expected when you are playing with fire. The bunny that he was playing with caught fire.
Lucky the hotel has anti-fire system. The moment it detected fire and smoke, the water sprinklers went off.
And so they are being politely chased out of the hotel.
After being chased out of the hotel, Seiji brought Michio to a place the Yakuza uses as a hang out.
Another view of the Yakuza room.
Here they are sleeping in the Yakuza room before someone comes to get Seiji for another Yakuza work.
Putting his work aside for the moment. This is how Seiji looks like after Keiko (the nurse) pass him her number and told him about her day off and at the same time asking him out.
However he didn't turn up and she ends up waiting for him to call or mail her. However the call and mail didn't arrive at all.
The next time she sees him at the hospital, she gave him a full out lecture and everything.
Thanks to all her complains and feelings, Seiji asked her out. They spend time with Michio at a park.
There they played with fire sparkles.
Michio looks so happy to be playing with it.
Seiji couldn't help himself from joining in the fun.
Now what a nice happy picture this is.
While Seiji was out another Yakuza member was asked by him to help take care of Michio. However the Chinese Mafia group came bursting in and shot the guy protecting Michio.
The Chinese Mafia leader gave Michio the gun and he played with it with curiousity. While watching this part I was so afraid that Michio might hurt himself.
Seiji came back and saw Michio with a gun. He asked Michio nicely, so as not to startle him, to give him the gun.
Michio pointed the gun at Seiji without even knowing anything. Michio was trying to tell Seiji something but Seiji cuts him off a bit too harshly and accidentally shot Seiji in the arm.
As a loving brother, he didn't get angry at Michio at all. In fact he runs to hug Michio who seems to be frightened by the 'bang'. It's so touching to see such scenes.
Being a Yakuza, he got his arm treated the Yakuza way.
After knowing how dangerous it is for Michio to be in the Yakuza compound, Seiji brought him to a 'home'.
While he was out with Keiko, Michio went missing from the 'home'. At the same time, the Chinese Mafia went around on a killing spree.
Seiji and Keiko went to the 'home' to try and find Michio. Seiji found him on top of an observation building watching the above fireworks. As loving as a brother could be, Seiji cries as he hug Michio.
And after Michio's disappearance, they are again on the move. Keiko asks Seiji to quit the Yakuza but due to the fact that they need money, he can't. Furthermore Michio can only move around in the night time and so he had to think about Michio. To Seiji, Michio is the only reason he is living in the first place.
The nurse is trying her best to get Seiji to change his mind. And so she asked him to bring them to the beach to spend the day.
After having fun, Seiji brought Michio to the Yakuza office as he runs some errands. But before he went there, the Yakuza boss has been taken in by the police. (Must be due to all the killings. But he didn't do it. Sad.)
As Seiji was out of the office, the Chinese Mafia came bursting in killing people in their sight.
Soon enough, they came to the room where Michio is spending time with people from the Yakuza (friends of Seiji).
Instantly, they protected Michio.
In the process losing their lives. The first one tried to attack the Mafia but got shot instantly.
The second took a sword as a weapon and was ready to use it but he was shot at a close distance.
With whatever strength he still had, he tried to stop the Mafia leader from going toward Michio but he was shot a second time.
Seiji came back to the office to find it surrounded by police and went to see the scene inside. He saw his friends all dead but he was more concerned about Michio. He asked the officer but he was told Michio isn't there.
And so he ran to find Michio at the Chinese Mafia's hang out. However the police had put up an ambush there. With the Chinese Mafia gone, Seiji found Michio but they were stuck. They had no where to go.
And so Seiji decides to hide Michio and go out alone. He left Michio alone while he search the place.
He found a nice spot.
He helps Michio into the hole up on the ceiling.
Michio didn't want to be separated from his brother. He looks so scared in that place.
With Michio in that confine place and with a promise to come back for him, Seiji went out to give himself up.
As Seiji is walking towards the police unharmed, Michio is getting out of his place.
Michio is bringing Seiji's gun with him and climbing down pipes. He needs to get the gun to his brother without knowing that it will bring harm.
As Seiji heard Michio calls out to him, he turns to face Michio. When he saw him and the gun, although he is scolding him with words, his expression is so sad. I was tearing by this time.
Seiji walks towards Michio and asks Michio to pass him the gun. However before he could get his hands on it, he was shoot. He fell with Michio by his side.
As Michio saw this, he stood up and pointed the gun upwards and shot a few shots. This cause the police to shot him and Seiji shouts for Michio as he falls. Tears are rolling down and I can't do a thing to stop them.
They are brought to the hospital to be operated on but it's really unfortunate. Both brothers passed away. Keiko who was at the hospital was devastated.
The real culprit is really none other than the police officer. How rotten can this world be? The police is the one behind it all?
I cried so much for this show. It was worth the watch. It's always nice to watch something other than romance. This brotherly love show is really one of a kind. Tatsuya Fujiwara really played his character well. A big hug for Ryo Kimura who played Michio. He was just so cute that no matter what he did, you just can't be angry at him.
