YOKOYAMA YU (KIMITAKA)
As mention above, he is a member of Johnny's Entertainment group KANJANI8. The group existed since 2001 and debut in 2004. Their latest work is an album 'Puzzle'. (bought it and love it) My favourite songs from the album are Puzzle and Last Train. And I like their solo songs too. Their subunits song Glorious is something that I can listen to over and over again.
He entered JE in 1996 December after his mother sent in his application. His audition was the same time as MURAKAMI SHINGO (KANJANI8 member).
Johnny-san gave Yokoyama his stage name "Yu" because Kimitaka seemed difficult to remember.
Yokoyama is also part of a subunit in KANJANI8 called Sankyoudai with members Shibutani Subaru and Yasuda Shota. Yokoyama is responsible for the lyrics in this subunit. Their songs are always full of fun and touching words. I totally love their song ONIGIRI. Purin and Mikan are not bad too.
On top of being part of KANJANI8, he does drama, TV shows and radio show. He is also recognised as the spokesman for Kanjani8 along with Shingo Murakami.
Some of his drama are:-
The Quiz Show Season 2: He stars alongside Arashi member SAKURAI SHO. This show is still airing in Japan. A dangerous show where your deepest secrets will be told.
Yukan Club: In this show he stars alongside KAT-TUN members AKANISHI JIN and TAGUCHI JUNNOSUKE. A group of high schoolers who are elite in every way. And forming a club that helps solve many mysteries.
Haikei, Chichiue-sama: Arashi member NINOMIYA KAZUNARI stars alongside with him.
Kemarishi: This is a special drama for members of KANJANI8. Members who stars with him are OHKURA TADAYOSHI and NISHIKIDO RYOU. A totally dangerous football game in order to save a precious friend.
Kowai Nichiyoubi: An old show where Johnny's Jr star in them. Each episode tells a horror story based in Japan. Whether they are true or not is totally up to you to decide.
